My Biography
| Mehrdad was born on January 02, 1968 (12 Dey 1346) in Tehran. The passion for music and poetry was passed on to him through his father. Since childhood, he was always fascinated by Tombak players such as Maestro Hossein Tehrani, Mohammad Essmaeili, Amir Nasser Eftetah, & Naser Farhangfar and their techniques. Eventually in 1989, he began taking Tombak lessons and attended Maestro Behzad Razavi Nia classes. He started playing Daf on his own; however, he indirectly has learned a lot from Masoud Habibi, Maestro Pejmon Haddadi, and Sara Ahmadi. He has taken part in both playing & organizing numerous quality concerts in U.S.A. and Canada featuring renowned musicians such as world renowned Dastan Ensemble accompanied by Sima Bina, Parissa, Salar Aghili, Zarbang ensemble, Sina Bayat (Najva ensemble), Mehdi Kolahdooz (Hamraz ensemble), and many other concerts. From Dec. of 2005 through April of 2010 Mehrdad produced & hosted the Art&Cultural news broadcasting from Radio 670am KIRN. Mehrdad is also proud by playing with numerous well known singers including Mahasti, Sattar, Hoshmand Aghili, Ahdieh, Behzad Behzadpour, Shahla Sarshar, Najva ensemble (Sina Bayat), and many more. His involvement with Art and music is only a passion and a hubby, Mehrdad is a graduate of Tehran's Melli (AKA Beheshti) University in Medical Records&Vital Statistics and holds a Biomedical Engineering degree. He has been working with GE Healthcare Technologies since 1999 and his Field of expertise is Nuclear Medicine Service Engineering. |
